Ruchi Shahagadkar

Fellow

Ruchi is a first-year graduate student focused on multimedia and data-driven storytelling at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated with a BA in Journalism from India and has previously reported extensively on health, housing and the media landscape in India. As a reporter for Richmond Confidential and the California Reporting Project, she focused on data organizing and analysis as well as covering the health impacts of the oil and gas industry in Richmond, Calif. Tracing federal and corporate funding to improve climate coverage and understanding the intersection of younger generations’ politics with environmental justice are subjects that interest her.
